The Arctic Ocean, located in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Arctic north polar region, is the smallest and shallowest of the world's five major oceanic divisions. The Arctic Ocean biome is very cold. In the winter there is no or little sunlight, while in the summer there is constant sunlight. It's been estimated that there is 800,000 years of ice that floats at the surface of the Arctic Ocean.
